Olivier ON4EI, is back again in Ireland from 18th to 28th March 2018 to operate during the CQ WPX SSB contest. He will be using EI7T for the duration of the contest.

On Thursday 14th December, members of the Tipperary Amateur Radio Group met at The Clonmel Park Hotel in for their Annual General Meeting. This was a well attended meeting with group members travelling from Counties Kilkenny, Waterford, and Cork joining their Tipperary colleagues. Hugh EI2HI chaired this very productive meeting with John EI7IG reading the minutes from last years AGM.
The group treasurer Thomas EI2IT reported a healthy financial situation. A review of the year and the group activities was then discussed at length.
The new incoming committee was then elected and it was agreed that the venue for all group meetings in 2017 will continue to be held at The Clonmel Park Hotel, Clonmel, Co Tipperary. Paul EI3ENB will continue as the Group QSL Manager and Seamus EI8EPB as Group Technical Advisor. The meeting concluded at 11pm when Hugh EI2HI thanked all for their input and attendance.
Tipperary Amateur Radio Group visited Ballinacourty Lighthouse, Co. Waterford last weekend for the 20th annual ILLW event. The club operated 2 stations on both SSB and CW. The members who attended were Paul EI3ENB, Andy EI5JF, John EI7IG, Hugh EI2HI and Ronan EI4KN. Despite challenging conditions during the setup of the station the club members enjoyed a good weekend getting many QSO’s in the log.

A well attended meeting was held on Thursday last at the Clonmel Park Hotel where plans were finalized for the upcoming International Lighthouse and Lightship weekend (ILLW) event at Ballinacourty Lighthouse on the 19th/20th August. If anyone else is interested in attending (including SWLs) please contact the club as soon as possible.
Tipperary Amateur Radio Group will activate Ballinacourty Lighthouse (ILLW Reference: IE0018) on Saturday and Sunday 19th & 20th August 2017 as part of the 20th International Lighthouse & Lightship weekend. Ballinacourty Lighthouse is located on the South coast of Ireland in County Waterford. The light at Ballinacourty was first established on 1st July 1858. The club will use the callsign EI7T for the activation.
The July meeting of the Tipperary Amateur Radio Group will take place in The Park Hotel, Clonmel on Thursday 27th July at 8.30pm. New members or anyone interested in amateur radio are very welcome to attend.
