May Meeting

March Meeting

AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Tipperary Amateur Radio Group will be held at The Clonmel Park Hotel, Clonmel on Tuesday 15th January at 8pm.


This is the most important meeting of the calendar year and all group members are requested to attend. Short Wave Listeners are in particular very welcome. A number of topics are up for discussion as well as making plans for 2019.

October Meeting

The next meeting of the group will take place in The Clonmel Park Hotel, Clonmel on Thursday 18th October at 8.30pm. New members or anyone interested in amateur radio are very welcome.

HF SSB Field Day

On the 1st & 2nd of September Tipperary Amateur Radio Group were QRV at Mooncoin, Co. Kilkenny for the 24 hour HF SSB Field Day. The station was manned by Paul EI3ENB, Tommy EI2IT, Hugh EI2HI, Ronan EI4KN, Francis EI5GOB, John EI7IG, Andy EI5JF, Brian Kelly SWL & Jim O’Brien SWL. An enjoyable weekend was had by all and thanks to Martin EI2HIB and Michael EI9GGB for taking their time to visit the station.

August Meeting

The next meeting of the Tipperary Amateur Radio Group will take place in The Clonmel Park Hotel, Clonmel on Thursday 23rd August at 8.30pm. Plans will be finalized for the HF SSB Field Day taking place on the 1st September and all those taking part are requested to attend. New members or anyone interested in amateur radio are very welcome.

June Meeting

May Meeting

EI7T on the air for CQ WW WPX

Olivier ON4EI, is back again in Ireland from 18th to 28th March 2018 to operate during the CQ WPX SSB contest. He will be using EI7T for the duration of the contest.

Olivier is running contests in Low Power/Single Op SSB category using mainly green energy with his temporary ‘Field Day like’ antenna park setup.

  • Inverted L 16m V/24m H monopole for 160 & 80m + 32 radials.
  • Inverted V dipole for 160-80m-40m bands.
  • 80m long beverage RX antenna East-West directional.
  • Spiderbeam & Mosley TA33Jr antennas for 20/15/10m bands.
  • Transceivers: 2 x Elecraft K3 + P3 SO2R 100W.
  • 500Ah battery bank + 180W solar panel and 400W wind generator.
